Work With Us
Are you a creator who is interested in making their own products? We’d love to have you work with us.
Our Objectives
We are the marketplace for the independent artist.
It’s our belief that independent creators are what make online communities so special — we exist to provide services to the independent creators that would normally only be available to companies. Unlike platforms that currently exist catered towards artists, we believe in a more direct involvement that allows us to know our partners better, and better advocate on their behalf.
We strive to encourage our artists to create what they are passionate about, rather than follow trends. We believe the most convincing product we could sell is the one that you, the artist, are most proud of.
Our Services
When we sell a product on behalf of an artist, we bear the initial production cost. This means by working with us, you will have the opportunity to make merchandise that may not normally be easily accessible to you.
We handle the online & in person sales platform, the packaging, customer communication, and shipping. This means you get to sell your merchandise with a first class experience to your customers.
When selling in person, we travel long distance to be able to provide your artwork to an in-person audience. Our customers at conventions get to interact in a very physical & personal manner, up close with your artwork. This brings your artwork to a new audience, and shows your fans the passion in your projects better than any way possible over the internet.
We are also able to offer the following services to our artists:
- Product preparation
- Printed medium: Cut & bleed preparation, document sizing
- T-Shirts & Apparel: Preparation for print on transfers, preparation for embroidery (Vectoring)
- Stickers: Cut & bleed preparation, vectoring
- Patches: Vectoring
- Miscellaneous services
- Mockups & renders
- Proofreading & editing
- Sales
- Corporate outreach (Want to partner with a company?)
- Retail sales outreach (Want to sell your products in a storefront?)
Anything else we can do for you? Let us know and we’d be happy to help.
Our Terms
Our contract with our artists grants us a revocable, non-exclusive license to sell their artwork. What this means:
- You retain all of your intellectual property. We are merely looking to sell it on your behalf.
- We aim to make our partners want to keep working with us. If you’re unsatisfied, you may decide to stop working with us at any time.
- You are free to continue selling your own artwork on your own behalf. This includes online or in-person. We encourage our artists to do so!
- Likewise, you are more than welcome to work with any additional teams or companies as you like.
The following terms we require in order to be able to appropriately work for you:
- We need your permission to sell your artwork, and we need your permission to use your name (think your Twitter handle, not your legal name) to say whose artwork we are selling. We do not make any claims that any artwork you provide to us is ours, or anyone’s but yours.
- We may need to make minor alterations to your original design as necessary to prepare them for production. We communicate this with our artists should this issue arise.
- Should you decide to part ways with us, we will need to account for any remaining inventory we have on-hand. Either we will continue to sell them at the agreed upon rate, or you may opt to buy out any stock from us at our manufacturing cost.
Other requirements we have in order to develop a relationship:
- If your project or artwork contains contributions from other artists, you must obtain permission from the involved creatives. Everyone involved should be aware of what we are doing.
- We do not accept any content that contains generative AI. We do not work with NFTs or cryptocurrency.
- 18+ content is okay, but we are reluctant to be involved in anything “contentious”. This means political content, excessively graphic or violent content, etc.
- As we aim to represent on your behalf, we also are aware that who and what we partner with is a statement about ourselves. As such, we reserve the right to decline involvement in anything that we would feel uncomfortable advocating on behalf of.
If you have any terms or conditions you need in order to work with us, we are willing to work with them! We work for you.
Compensation Structure
We offer first-class rates for our artists, and we aim to provide as many services as possible for the fees that we charge. We are also constantly looking for ways to streamline our business in order to provide better rates for our artists.
Here’s how our compensation structure works:
Our artists receive 65% of the basic net margin. What this means is if a product sells for $10, and costs $2 to make, you will receive 65% of ( $10 – $2 ). Any additional fees incurred as part of a transaction are taken out of the remaining 35%, and anything left over is our profit. Examples of fees that are not included here:
- Payment transaction fees (The cost of us running a credit card)
- Website costs: Our domain, our service provider, our software plugins, our shipping provider
- Administrative costs: Our corporate licensing, our taxes, our banking fees
- In-person events: Transportation costs, food & lodging, booth costs
- Advertising
We believe in not having our partnered artists have to worry about the nitty-gritty of our business, and it’s our responsibility to handle these fees. The only costs that are involved in calculating our compensation is the basic product cost, and the manufacturing cost.
